FAQs

What is Atid?

Atid is a community of 20- and 30-somethings from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who are looking to connect to and engage in Judaism and the Jewish community in Dallas.

Are you affiliated with a synagogue?

Yes. We are affiliated with Temple Emanu-El of Dallas, the largest Reform congregation in the southwest. We combine the spirit and flexibility of independent Jewish young adult programs with the support of an established congregation.

Do I have to be a practicing Jew or identify as a Reform Jew to participate?

Absolutely not. You don’t even have to be Jewish. You just need to be curious about or interested in exploring Jewish life. There are no quizzes or tests. We welcome all levels of Jewish knowledge and experience to celebrate, eat, learn, participate, practice, serve and socialize with us.

Is Atid (fill in the blank)-friendly?

Yes. We are a safe, accepting and inclusive community. We welcome everyone, all the time.

Do I have to pay for every event?

Many Atid programs are free, some have a small fee.

I’m shy and don’t want to attend a program where I don’t know anyone. How can I connect to others?

Regardless of whether you are an introvert or extrovert, new to Dallas or a long-time resident, if you are new to Atid, we can help you build connections before you attend one of our events. Contact Alex Null to let her know you’re interested in getting involved.

How do I find out more?

Email Us. Visit us on Facebook and YouTube or attend some of our events.

Do you have to be a member of Temple Emanu-El to participate?

No. If you are ready to join, click here for more information and explore the Choose Your Dues option that allows you to become part of the Temple community for your first year at whatever financial commitment you choose.
